Jim was born and raised in Concord, Massachussetts. He attended and graduated Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont and was then commissioned by the President of the United States as an Officer in the United States Army. He was Honorably Discharged as Captain after six years of service, three of which he served in Europe.
In 1975, Jim started his sales career in Pittsburgh, PA with West Real Estate Agency. He was promoted to sales manager in 1977 for the real estate branch office serving North Suburban Pittsburgh and the exclusive community of Fox Chapel.
In 1981, Jim was appointed Director of Relocation Services for Howard Hanna Real Estate in Pittsburgh. He coordinated and directed sales agents in providing new homefinding efforts for relocating families into Pittsburgh. In 1983 he was promoted to Vice President of Corporate and Relocation Services overseeing all brokerage services relating to Major Corporation, Banks and Group moves in and out of Pittsburgh. He managed more than 100 of the "homes for sale" inventory owned by the corporation and oversaw relocation services by 200 agents and 10 offices.
In 1987, Jim relocated to Naples and he was promoted to Southwest Florida Regional Vice President of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services. Jim developed and built a brand new company in Naples beginning with 5 agents to over 125 agents. Furthermore, he developed 2 full service offices and 5 new construction sales centers. The company rose to number five out of 250 companies in the marketplace. His success created new marketing systems and procedures that are now part of standard practice for all real estate companies in Naples.
In 1993, Howard Hanna Real Estate was sold to John R. Wood. Jim established a private brokerage services program to assist clients acquire, invest and sell homes, condominiums and villas within the City of Naples with special emphasis on the Village of Old Naples. Through years of experience, he has guided homeowners through the process of renovating historic homes and other older homes of distinction. Jim also specializes in the marketing of new construction homes, villas, and condominiums.
Jim has brokered several thousand homes in Old Naples, Aqualane, Port Royal, Coquina Sands, Moorings and Park Shore.
